A Phil Drop into Other One like long ago. In the space before he starts you can hear someone (sounds like Jerry- but probably someone near another mike) say 'Phil....". Then he drops in. a topper on an overall Great Show! Thanks boys and CW.

Subject: Phil Bombs Away
I was at this show in the thick of the crowd in front of the stage about 40 feet back a little on Jerry's side. Terrific stadium show, loud clean sound, and great song selection. Excellent recording.

2nd Set Permagrin highlights include the Bucket > Fire transition... Woo-Woo! Phil at the start of Fire was just killer. Best Blow Away I ever saw them play live... complete with Brent's "Hey Wait A Minute" break where they stop and start up all over again. Awesome version. The Truckin' outro jam was probably the loudest Jerry I have ever heard live. He had the Tiger roaring at the top of its lungs! Woo-Woo! Check It Out. Awesome.

But what I will never forget, remember like it was yesterday, was The Other One. They started the song from scratch having finished Take You Home. Noodled around for a bit, brought in some spacey effects.. and then, right at the 1:00 mark, the energy dropped and everyone on stage, literally everyone, Jerry Billy Mickey Brent Harry Steve and every deadhead in the Stadium stopped what they were doing and looked directly at Phil.

He took the cue and laid down the classic Other One bass intro licks huge and BOOM! the boys were off and running! It was awesome. What a great little band-audience non-verbal communication moment. Phil does not always lay down the 01 intro licks. But on this night he had no choice. 20,000 people were staring at him with arms crossed. He did not disappoint.

Last but not least check out the Clarence Clemons saxophone solo on Brokedown Palace. Clarence never really meshed well with the Dead the few times he played with them, but this time he absolutely nailed it. What a great song for a guest musician and the sax just sounds so sweet on this version. Good job y'all! Clap clap clap. Enjoy!

Hey spikedriver you can find that Fogerty recording on sugarmegs. As for the Dead portion of the show this is another '89 masterpiece. Charlie Miller is so good at remastering. This sounds wonderful.

It was the Fogerty show, with him singing "Centerfield" in Centerfield. Cannot believe it has been 21 years already!

Subject: AIDS Benefit w/ Dan Fogerty?
Does anyone know if this was the Aids benefit show that featured the Dead backing up John Fogerty in a long set playing all CCR tunes? Or was this the Dylan Dead show? I would love to find that Fogerty recording.
